Welcome to SMTA Penang Chapter
The SMTA membership is a network of international professionals who build skills, share practical experiences, and develop solutions in electronic assembly technologies, including microsystems, emerging technologies, and related business operations.
As Penang has the presence of many world’s key electronics multinational corporations and local companies, with a large pool of professionals, it is beneficial to have an association that pursues professional development. The chapter is a non-profit organisation.

Recent Chapter News & Events
Updates
- The method used for nominating new committee members has been agreed upon. 10 new committee members will be elected to serve in 2009. Nomination and voting system will be used during the AGM.
- This year's Vendor Show will be held November 19-20, 2009 as part of the South East Asia Technical Conference on Electronics Assembly Technologies.
- The AGM will be held at Chiptronics office on 12 August 2008 at 7.30 pm.
- The committee has conducted a meeting on 17 July 2008.
- The SMTA Penang Chapter successfully staged its second Technical Seminar on 18 June 2008.
- Many thanks to committee members who helped with the seminar.
